What does eFootball Championship represent?

eFootball Championship Open is the largest eFootball eSports competition in the eFootball series. This tournament originated with the eFootball Pro series and has evolved over the years to include flagship events such as the eFootball Championship Open and eFootball Championship Club Event Competitions. Initially focused exclusively on console players, the franchise has since expanded to incorporate mobile gamers, reflecting a bold and progressive strategy by Konami. 

This inclusion of mobile players has been particularly impactful , as mobile gaming has significantly contributed to the franchise's success especially through in-game micro-transactions, such as the purchase of legendary player packs. Notably, Konami's eFootball mobile platform recently surpassed 800 million downloads across iOS and Android devices, highlighting its widespread popularity and influence in the gaming industry.

The qualification process for the eFootball Championship World Finals offers opportunities across multiple platforms, including PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, and Mobile, through victories in the eFootball Championship Open and eFootball Club Event competitions. However, it's important to note that the final knockout stages of the tournament will be played exclusively on the PlayStation and Mobile categories, regardless of the platform participants initially compete on.

The eFootball Championship 2024 Format: A Brief Recap

The eFootball Championship World Finals in Tokyo's iconic eSports Ginza Studio brought together the best of the best in a tournament filled with high-stakes drama and electrifying gameplay. Out of thousands of hopefuls, only 32 elite players earned their spot on the 'Big Stage', battling through two intense qualifying paths.

Twelve players secured their spots by dominating the prestigious Club Events, representing global powerhouses like FC Barcelona, Arsenal FC, AC Milan, Internazionale Milano, FC Bayern München, and Manchester United FC. The remaining 20 players fought tooth and nail through the grueling eFootball Championship 2024 Open, proving they have what it takes to compete with the very best.

Just like the intensity of the real-life football tournaments , the World Finals kicked off with thrilling Group Stage matches. Divided into groups of four, each player faced off against  their rivals in a points-based system that rewarded 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw, and nothing for a loss. Every match counted as they played six games per platform, vying for a coveted spot in the knockout rounds.

The top four players took the stage for the knockout rounds, on a battlefield of skill and strategy simultaneously managing their nerves.

In the 2024 World Finals, held in Tokyo, Japan, the champions were:

• Mobile Champion: Rentao from Brazil
• Console Champion: Mayageka from Japan.

eFootball Championship 2025: The need to know!

The eFootball Championship 2025 will follow the same format as the previous competition. This means that the eFootball Championship 2025 will be split into two tournaments , the eFootball Championship Club Event and the eFootball Championship Open. The Club Event is a competition held to determine the No. 1 fans of the eFootball official partner clubs,.

This season will see a minor change in the tournament structure where it will be evolved to facilitate easier participation. The players who finish top in the local league tournaments and eFootball League will proceed to the Regional Finals.

Victors of eFootball Championship 'Open' and eFootball Championship 'Club Event' will go head-to-head in the World Finals in July 2025, Tokyo, Japan.

Arsenal FC kicks off eFootball Championship 2025: Club Event now underway

The opening round of the four-stage qualifiers for the eFootball Championship Club Event featuring Arsenal FC is officially underway. Players from across the globe now have the opportunity to compete for the honour of representing the Gunners in the eFootball Championship World Finals, kicking off on October 31, 2024. The qualifiers are divided into four regional brackets: Europe & Africa, Americas, West Asia, and East Asia, ensuring a truly global shutdown.

The tournament's four qualifier rounds provide multiple opportunities for players to secure their spot. Competitors who fall short in Round 1 can regroup and make another run in Round 2, Round 3, or even Round 4 , keeping their  championship dreams alive.

The Layout of the Arsenal FC Club Event

After triumphing in the grueling qualifier rounds, the winning players will advance to the enthralling online finals set for February 8, 2025. This highly anticipated event will be streamed live on the official eFootball YouTube and Facebook channels. The finalists who emerge victorious will secure their spot in the prestigious World Finals in Tokyo, scheduled for July 2025.

It’s worth noting that the Arsenal FC Club Event is just one of six major Club Events taking place in the lead-up to the eFootball Championship Grand Finals. Other iconic clubs—FC Barcelona, FC Bayern München, AC Milan, Inter Milan, and Manchester United—will host their own events during this period. Players who don’t succeed in the Arsenal FC Club Event will have additional opportunities to compete in these other Club Events.
Meanwhile, the eFootball Championship Open, which complements the Club Event as part of the eFootball Championship Duplex, will kick off at a later date. Announcements regarding its launch will be made in-game across platforms including PlayStation, Steam, Xbox, and Mobile.

Details regarding the date of the finals will be communicated, and participants must ensure they can arrive in Japan on the specified date, as determined by the administration.

All participants are responsible for obtaining a valid work visa to enter Japan. The associated costs for the visa application and processing will need to be covered by the participant.

The administration will fully cover all travel and accommodation expenses related to the event.

What's the Prize?

Rewards for successfully completing challenges during the tournament will be distributed in-game. These rewards will vary depending on the rounds you advance through, as outlined in the official Event  Conditions and Match Details. Examples of rewards for qualifying rounds include  eFootball Coins and other exclusive in-game items.

For  participants who advance to the World Finals, the prizes will be significantly more substantial and rewarding. Below is the prize chart for the eFootball Championship Open Grand Finale that was hosted in 2023.
