Current Game Modes and Rewards
Before delving into a detailed analysis, it is essential to understand the various game modes available as outlined in the official in-game Mode guide:
Dream Team: A team that can be freely built to your exact liking with players from all eras and affiliations.
Authentic team: A team built with readily available players for you to dive straight into the thick of the action.
Tournament: Take part in tournament-based Events. Events that are yet to be held will not be displayed.
Event - PVP: Take part in VS Events and earn rewards.
eFootball League: Play PVP matches and aim for Division promotion!
My league: Play VS AI matches over the course of a season!
Friend Match: Create a Match Room and play online matches.
Quick Match: Play against users online.
Exhibition: Enjoy casual matches any time.
On a Thursday Morning, following the weekly maintenance period from 2:00 UTC to 8:00 UTC, players may log into the game only to find a repetitive set of events. Currently, the events include:
Event (VS AI): This typically features one to two new events each week, including a Challenge Event which is associated with the league for that particular week (Spanish League, English League, Brazilian League etc.) and a Co-op VS AI event. The Rewards for the challenge event include one Chance Deal for a Player Of The Week Pack, while the Co-op AI event offers one skill trainer, GPs and some XP training programs. These events expire on Sundays at 2:00 UTC, allowing for the introduction of new events of a similar nature, thus establishing a cyclical pattern.
Event (PVP): Similar to the VS AI events, this mode includes with one challenge event and one Co-op PVP event. Rewards for the Challenge Event consist 50 coins for the first match, one skill trainer for second match, and two skill trainer for match three. The Co-op event rewards include XP training programs, GPs and one Skill token.
Moreover, there are temporary events which occur on a seasonal basis, including Tournament events and randomly occurring events such as "Testing My Limit" (a Weekend Ranking Event), alongside update-related Tour Events. Fun-focused events, including "Penalty Challenge" (Dream, online), "Golden Goal" (Dream, online), and "Beat the Clock" events (Dream, offline), also make spontaneous appearances.
The other permanent game modes (including Dream Team as well as Authentic) which exist are , the eFootball League (online), My League( offline), Friend Match (consisting of 1v1 as well as Co-op matches) , Quick Match (online without rewards), and Exhibition (Authentic , Offline).

What Does the Community Truly Desire?
The eFootball community itself can be categorised into two primary groups, the first group is the patriotic PES (Pro Evolution Soccer) players that have following the franchise for many years, the second group is the newer players who just recently hopped onto the game during the eFootball rebranding new era. Veteran eFootball players that have followed closely the rise and fall of the franchise have higher expectations and therefore hold the company to very high standards. The newer eFootball players are lot less demanding , because this has been the 'new normal' since the launch of eFootball 2022.
The general consensus among eFootball players favours a more manual and simulated gaming experience, rather than an arcade-style approach that appeals primarily to mobile users. The Pro Evolution Soccer franchise has historically catered to individuals seeking a realistic football experience on consoles. Players yearn for engaging modes that allow them to grind for valuable rewards, such as Master League, wherein they can develop their players and teams, thereby unlocking the potential of emerging talents while adopting a managerial role. Additionally, eFootball aficionados miss features such as the Edit Mode, which allowed users to customise various elements, including club kits, player appearances, attributes, and club crests. The ability to "Create a Player" was another well-received feature in PES, and its reintroduction in eFootball would undoubtedly resonate positively with the community at large.
It is noteworthy that mobile players have traditionally been limited by the lack of comprehensive offline game modes such as Master League and Become a Legend due to processing and graphical constraints. However, mobile users continue to seek events that enable them to accumulate more eFootball Coins, reminiscent of prior series. Events like "Match Day" once offered players the opportunity to earn up to 200 coins through just two match day events. Login bonuses and administrative apologies for in-game bugs previously contributed positively to users, allowing them to save coins to acquire their favoured Iconic Moment Players.
Regrettably, the enjoyment associated with these features has diminished. Konami now provides significantly lower amounts of coins for opening packs. The quantity of eFootball coins distributed has been halved, and the player pool system has deteriorated, resulting in a 150-item loot box. Completing both matches (totalling six online games) yields insufficient coins for a single spin in any pack, creating potential discouragement for players. Contemporary mobile users may not recognize how generous Konami previously was, and are therefore more likely to accept the current monetary offerings of 100 coins.
Strategies to Rejuvenate eFootball 2025: Evolution of Existing Modes and Enhanced Rewards
Before thinking of introducing entirely new events and gaming modes let us analyze the current modes that could be improved or benefit from a comprehensive revamp.
A common perspective among eFootball players is the lack of interesting offline game modes. My League was introduced back in 2024 with the V.3.2.0 update , it sparked some interesting conversations as it could be readily compared to Master League, albeit with fewer features and minimal rewards.
The primary criticism of My League is its absence of a robust rewards system. None of the rewards given after winning My League matches and trophy add any real value to your eFootball account. This is because the tokens , in-game items such as stat boosters and condition boosters are only applicable during My League campaign, during the matches. Surely a badge and some GPs is given if you win My League on legend difficulty but that is not something that is going to benefit your team performance substantially.
A suitable rewards system should incorporate, but not be limited to : Chance Deals, eFootball Coins, Skill Trainer Programs, XP Training programs, and Booster Tokens. There must be an urge for players to feel motivated to return to the game consistently.
To enhance My League, the introduction of spontaneous events within matches could prove beneficial, allowing players to toggle between user-controlled and AI-controlled moments to rapidly alter the scoreline. This concept mirrors a model employed in EA SPORTS FC's Career Mode, where entering a match while trailing 3-1 at the 55-minute mark creates an engaging scenario that fosters competitive mindsets among players against AI opponents.
Competing in a full 38-match season, where games can exceed 10 minutes, may become tiresome for players. Introducing dynamic and compelling features would enhance the playability of VS AI matches, thereby encouraging greater engagement with these events.

The "Beat The Clock" event holds substantial potential but could be further developed into a more comprehensive experience. Rather than merely striving to score goals within limited timeframes, additional challenges could be integrated, such as one-touch volley challenges facilitated by an AI player, long-range shooting challenges, and free-kick challenges from various positions and distances on the field. Another innovative approach could involve a scrimmage match, where the playing area is reduced, and players are restricted to one-touch passes until they are ready to shoot; any player who takes multiple touches would fail the challenge.
Anticipated Timeline for New Game Modes
At present, no member of the eFootball community is aware of the precise timeline for when Konami intends to reintegrate exciting modes such as Master League, Become a Legend, or MyClub, if indeed such plans exist. However, there is considerable anticipation surrounding the prospect of new and invigorating features that could reinvigorate interest among eFootball fans and signal a potential resurgence for veteran PES enthusiasts who have previously left the franchise. The expectation is for a revival that elicits excitement comparable to EA’s FIFA Street, Volta, or Rush modes.
Regardless of the length of time required to reintroduce these various game modes, it is clear that the franchise has regressed, resulting in a situation where it must now endeavor to catch up in terms of content offerings. Currently, the game appears to lack substance, with full-time matches rendering the experience increasingly monotonous over time. While mini-games could be integrated, they should not replicate the predictability of daily penalty kick challenges.
For the time being, players remain hopeful after each update, anticipating new features. However, disappointment often ensues, generating a yearning for Konami to astonish the community with genuinely engaging game modes or features. Until that time arrives, players must derive their enjoyment from the experience of opening packs.
